Having the proper slope for water drainage is one of, if not the most important factors when installing concrete. Establishing the proper slope for drainage is an important factor and is commonly over looked on new or existing installs.
Concrete will crack if not installed correctly. We start with the sub-base prep. We then remove any bad, wet or weak sub-base and install a class 5 sub-base. This process will repeat to achieve a solid sub-base. With repeated wet compaction to the installation area. Next, we enhance the strength of the concrete with rebar steel. After the concrete is installed, we will install control cuts into the concrete to allow for proper flexibility and movement. This will prevent the concrete from cracking in unnecessary areas.
Concrete can be slippery. This can be the case not only for amped and colored but also for any concrete installation. We at Cipala Decorative Concrete Inc, install the highest quality concrete in the industry and safety is our number one goal. We add a non-slip dry grit additive to all of our sealers to help give traction.
The surface of the concrete will shell off if a weak or low quality grade concrete mix is used and if the sealer isn't applied in a timely fashion. Applying the sealer to the surface of the concrete helps the concrete cure stronger and the sealer also acts as a protective layer from salt.
